Local Businesses Benefit from City, County's Business Support Grants

We Are Open Signage on glass door

The City of Fallon and Churchill County are pleased to announce that 28 local businesses and non-profits benefitted from the 2020 City of Fallon and Churchill County COVID-19 Business Support Grant. The program, which was developed by Mayor Ken Tedford and County Commission Chairman Pete Olsen, was funded by CARES Act funds received by the City and County and implemented by the Churchill Economic Development Authority (CEDA).

“We saw this as a great opportunity to help our local businesses and non-profits that were hurting responding to COVID-19,” said Mayor Ken Tedford. “We appreciate our partnership with the County on this and working together with them on so many other efforts that benefit the citizens and businesses of our community.”

“We know that our local businesses and non-profits are struggling through these difficult times and we hope that this program helped, at least in small part, to keep them safe and open,” said County Commission Chairman Pete Olsen. “We really appreciate Sara Beebe at CEDA for her hard work in implementing and managing the program.”

In total, the program distributed approximately $131,000 as reimbursement for expenses incurred by local businesses and non-profits in response to COVID-19 including the purchase of personal protective equipment (PPE), implementation of workplace redesigns, additional signage, sanitation items, technical assistance and advancements for the business or non-profit, and other items necessary to comply with COVID-19 public health guidelines on safely returning to work and to safely re-open.
