Thanks to the generosity of Churchill County individuals and businesses, the 80th Annual Churchill County 4-H/FFA Junior Livestock Show & Sale held April 27 generated more than $104,000 in total sales and netted more than $90,000 for student scholarships.
Production numbers
By the numbers, the 2019 show produced:
• 81 4-H and FFA youth participated with animal projects
• CCJLS projects have expanded participation from cattle, sheep and swine to include rabbits, goats, chickens and turkeys
• More than 70 businesses and community volunteers donated time and personal resources to the organization and operation of the JLS
Livestock fairs represent an educational opportunity for the youth of our state to learn the value and importance of food and fiber production for the future food security of our communities.
